Nothklamm, Gesäuse National Park in Steiermark, Austria

The Nothklamm is hidden away in the Gesäuse National Park in Steiermark, Austria. Over 10,000 years ago this wonderful ravine was curved out of the mountains when the sea and ice retreated. Leaving the remains of many beautiful fossils of all sorts of shapes and patterns on the bed and in the walls of the gorge. The peaceful escape of the Gesäuse National Park is away from motorways and cities spans over 110 km2, making it a perfect place to hike, climb and of course to make images. Another trip is in order this year, discover whats around the next corner.

This image was taken last July 7th 2009, finally processed and developed Feb 5th 2010.
