This morning, I found myself traveling back to Untertal to where I knew there was a old mill there, which I had seen in Summer while biking. After a brisk walk through the snow and along the river I found the little mill which is hidden from the road above.
The Gföller mill operated well into the 1970’s was very much part of the Gföller’s farm. It had been destroyed by floods in 1874 and rebuilt in 1875. Of a total of about 40 mills along the river, the Gföller mill is the only one to have survived in Untertal.
