The CineStill E6 kit is a simplified and easy-to-use kit that allows you to develop your slide film at home. Firstly I’d liked to say a big to thanks to Gabor for demonstrating how to use the kit and developing the E6 slide film. It was a fun evening to make this video hopefully we’d do another one maybe Lith Process next time!
Slide film is a unique type of film that produces vibrant and colourful images with high contrast. Developing slide film can be a challenging task, but with the CineStill E6 kit, it can be done with ease just like C41 development process for standard colour film.

Prepare your chemicals
The CineStill E6 kit contains three chemicals: developer, colour reversal, and bleach. You need to prepare each chemical according to the instructions on the package. Mix each chemical with distilled water. I recommend using foldable containers.
Heat up the chemcials
With the CineStill Stick heat the water up with the chemical containers in the Eurobox to 41-42 ºC. Check that chemicals are at 40 ºC
Load your film into the developing tank
Use a film opener to remove the end of the film canister and cut the film leader. Load the film into the developing tank in complete darkness.
Pre-wash your film
Before developing the film, you need to pre-wash it with warm water.
Phase I – Developer
Pour the developer into the developing tank and agitate for 9mins by rolling back and forth in the box.
(Maintain the temperature as shown in our video)
Wash
Pour back the chemical in the container and wash out the development tank with warm water for 1 min.
Phase II – Colour Reversal
Pour the colour reversal chemical into the developing tank and agitate for 7 mins.
(Maintain the temperature as shown in our video)
Wash
Pour back the chemical in the container and wash out the development tank with warm water for 1 min.
Phase III – Bleach
Pour the bleach into the developing tank and agitate it for 6-7 mins.
(Maintain the temperature as shown in our video)
“Washy – Washy” – Wash & Rinse
Pour back the chemical in the container and wash and rinse out the development tank with warm water for 10 min this time
Dry your film
Hang your film in a dust-free environment to dry overnight.
With these steps, you can easily develop your slide film at home!
