The Solarize or Sabatier Effect has being around along time since the dawn of photography so it’s a valid method to create artwork particularly in Black & White. It may not be to everyone’s taste, however for the right image it can bring things to the surface, strengthen the subject and it’s environment. Recently I’ve being using this method in one of my photography projects –‘Dublin Connections’ . I thought I’d share some of my presets I use as bases to create the look I want.
The plugin presets simply changes the Tone Curve and Color Filters of the image. Remember the brightness works in the other direction. The presets are to give an idea, do try altering the color filters and widen the bottom of the curve. I’ve included the settings in the image examples below.
Below are some presets which I’ve created for Silver Efex Plugin for Photoshop/Lightroom or Aperture.
- If you don’t have Silver Efex there is a 15 day trial available for Download.
- Download Solarized Presets and unzip them, then import them into Silver Efex.
If you like the preset do let me know by comment or email.
